Taking Care of Your Motorcycle – Harley-Davidson Maintenance Schedule

Harley-Davidson Tech Working on Bike

Whether you ride a Street Glide or a Tri Glide Ultra, you want to take care of your bike. That means keeping up with your motorcycle’s Harley-Davidson maintenance schedule. Our Salem service center can help you with that. Here’s a list of things our highly trained technicians do when complying with your motorcycle maintenance schedule.

Harley-Davidson Maintenance Schedule – 1,000 Miles

Your bike is still new at this point. So, we’re just making sure there’s no problems.

  • Inspect brake pads and discs for wear

  • Check the tightness of all critical fasteners: hand controls, brake system, axle nuts, front fork components, riser, and handlebars

Harley-Davidson Maintenance Schedule – 2,500 Miles

Now the motorcycle is starting to get “broken in”, so we’ll check for a little more wear and tear.

  • Inspect oil lines and brake system for leaks

You’ve logged a lot of miles on our Portland roads at this point. So, we’ll add a few more items to the maintenance list.

  • Check and adjust the belt

  • Change transmission lubricant
  • Check stabilizer links and engine mounts
  • Lubricate and adjust steering head bearings
