The cost of repairs is an important part of your budget when buying a new bike, so it’s important to know exactly what the factory warranty on a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle will cover. For all new models, the factory Harley-Davidson warranty offers a coverage term of 2 years and unlimited miles. That means you can take your bike to an authorized Portland-area dealership for fender-to-fender repair coverage on all malfunctions except normal wear items like brake pads, paint chips, and tires.

Harley-Davidson Parts & Accessories Warranty

In addition, you’re covered for the cost to replace or repair any Harley-Davidson genuine OEM parts or accessories—purchased through the Harley-Davidson® Online Store or an authorized dealer—if there are factory defects under normal use and service. 

Does your Harley-Davidson parts warranty apply to parts and accessories that you or an aftermarket shop have installed? Yes, but only for defects in manufacturing—not conditions caused by the improper installation. It does not cover defects or damage due to abuse, misuse, or improper installation. As always, we recommend taking your bike to a certified H-D repair shop in the Albany area to ensure proper installation every time!

Harley-Davidson Extended Warranty

After the 2-year factory Harley-Davidson warranty is up, you can extend your coverage term with a 5-year, unlimited-mileage extended warranty. The Harley-Davidson extended warranty—or Harley Extended Service Plan (ESP)–covers 1100 parts: engine, transmission, carburetor, fuel injection, starter, speedometer, cruise module, forks, electronics, sidecar hardware, and more.

How to Submit a Harley-Davidson Warranty Claim

If you believe that any genuine Harley-Davidson clothing, parts, or accessories that you purchased have a factory defect in materials or workmanship, you can submit a warranty claim. To do so, simply return the item(s) with proof of purchase within the limited warranty period at an authorized Harley-Davidson® dealer near you in Lebanon. The item(s) will be repaired or replaced at the dealer’s discretion—at no cost to you—or you will receive a credit in the amount you originally paid. Keep in mind that this warranty coverage doesn’t include labor and repairs!
